Ravi has spent his career figuring out how government money actually moves, and what happens when it doesn't reach where it's supposed to. At the Texas Health and Human Services Commission's Office of Inspector General, he led fraud, waste, and abuse detection across billions of Medicaid claims and identified $200M+ in funds at risk. Before that, he worked in financing consulting for some of Texas's largest hospital systems, structuring federal financing transactions and modeling $100B+ in statewide Medicaid reimbursements.
He later founded and ran Fair Deal Texas, a nonpartisan nonprofit on Medicaid financing reform: Texas hospitals and local governments were leaving federal matching funds on the table because of how provider taxes and supplemental payment programs were designed, and Fair Deal Texas built the coalitions and policy proposals to fix it.
These days he writes The Austin Ledger, a newsletter on Texas fiscal accountability and government finance, and he's in the process of acquiring a small business in Central Texas.
